Chapter 4


We walked to the mountains I noticed that Ed and Justine were holding hands I smiled.
“So he actually told her” I said to myself.
“So it would seem” Saphira said.
“Maybe I should tell Kayla soon” I said.
“Yes that would be wise” Saphira said.
“Thanks” I said.
“No need to thank me” Saphira said.
I smiled at Saphira and I walked up to Kayla. Then Saphira sensed someone coming.
“Logan were being followed” Saphira said.
“How many?” I asked.
“Twenty” Saphira said.
“Guys Saphira said someone’s coming” I said.
“How many?” Brom said.
“Twenty” I said.
“Could be a scouts we must be swift” Brom said.
We readied our weapons and were about to attack the stranger’s only to be blinded by light and then everything went dark we then fell unconscious.
“Carry them but be careful with the Dragon” I heard someone said.
I then fell unconscious. Several hours later I woke up first my vision was blurry and then I saw someone looking at me my vision got better and I saw that it was Kayla.
“Welcome back sleepy head” Kayla said laughing a bit.
“Kayla you alright?” I asked.
“I’m fine Logan” Kayla said.
“Where’s Saphira?” I asked.
“She’s resting now as are Edward and Justine and Akita” Kayla said.
“What about Brom?” I asked.
“He’s out somewhere” Kayla said.
I then felt Kayla’s hair and she smiled.
“Logan I over heard you and Ed talking in the morning” Kayla said.
“Oh I didn’t know you were awake” I said blushing that she found out that I loved her.
Kayla then put her hand on my cheek.
“Logan I feel the same way” Kayla said.
“You do?” I asked.
Kayla nodded and she leaned down and she rested her head on mine we looked into each other’s eyes.
“I love you Logan” Kayla said as she closed her eyes and pressed her lips with mine.
I was surprised on her actions but I closed my eyes and I kissed her back she then parted the kiss and smiled at me I smiled back.
“Come on let’s look around” Kayla said helping me up.
The first thing I noticed was I was wearing different clothes. I looked at Kayla she was smiling at me I walked up to her and I looked outside to see villagers and waterfalls we could see the children playing.
“Wow it’s beautiful but where are we?” I asked.
“You’re in the mountain village of Vanguard home of the resistance” A man said.
We turned around to see an old man behind us.
“Who are you?” I asked.
“Ganduff the Gray and it was me and some of my friends that brought you here” The old man said.
“Well thank you for getting us here and out of the forest” I said.
“No need to thank me” Ganduff said.
“Can we see brother and the others?” I asked.
“No there asleep right now why not look around for awhile till they wake up” Ganduff said.
“Alright come on Kayla” I said grabbing Kayla’s hand.
“Coming Logan” Kayla said.
Ganduff just chucked a little. Me and Kayla got outside and were amazed on what we saw the village was filled with waterfalls and the village was large.
“Wow it’s beautiful” Kayla said.
“Yea it is” I said.
I felt Kayla grab my hand and she entwined her fingers with mine I looked at her and she was blushing I kissed her lips to let her know everything is okay she smiled at me after the kiss.
“I love you Logan” Kayla said.
“I love you too Kayla” I said.
“Come on let’s wake up the other’s Logan” Kayla said.
“Okay” I said.
We ran back to the house we were resting in and we saw everyone asleep.
“Hey let’s surprise them” I whispered.
“Okay” Kayla whispered back laughing a little.
I walked slowly to Ed.
“WAKE UP SLEEPYHEADS!” I yelled.
Ed and Justine woke up surprised.
“Logan what the hell’s your problem!?” Ed yelled.
Me and Kayla laughed at them.
“Oh now your gonna get it” Ed said tackling me.
We were wrestling and Ed was winning.
“You gonna do that again Logan?” Ed asked twisting my leg.
“Yes I give up just don’t break my leg” I said.
“Good” Ed said letting go of my leg.
“Gezz can’t take a joke” I said.
We then heard Saphira yawn as she woke up.
“Good morning” Saphira said.
“Morning to you too” I said in my thoughts.
“Where are we?” Ed asked.
“Vanguard” I said.
“So we made it?” Ed said.
“Yea I guess so” I said.
“Where’s Brom?” Justine asked.
“He’s somewhere around here” Kayla said.
Then Ganduff came into the room with Brom.
“Well I trust that you all had a good night sleep” Brom said.
“Yea” We said.
“Well we have some news the King Cronos is dead” Brom said.
“What how?” We asked.
“He was killed for betraying his master Sauron” Ganduff said.
“Sauron?” I said.
“Yes you encountered him before” Ganduff said.
“You mean that man in the clock that tried to kill me was Sauron?” I asked.
“Yes but he was just testing you he plans to make you his own slave” Ganduff said.
“What!?” Ed, Justine, and Kayla said.
“Sauron has released an army of orcs to this area for battle and a warlock will be with them” Ganduff said.
“So we have to fight?” Ed asked.
“Yes you must” Brom said.
“When will they be here?” I asked.
“In 3 day’s” Ganduff said.
“Hmm well Saphira I guess I’m gonna have to learn to ride you” I said.
“Yes you must learn now” Brom said.
“You and Justine and Kayla should train as well” Ganduff said.
“Alright” We said.
“Logan you and Saphira can come with me so I can teach you how to ride her” Brom said.
“Alright see you guys later come on Saphira” I said.
“Alright” Saphira said.
“See ya Logan” Ed and Justine said.
“Bye Logan” Kayla said.
I kissed Kayla and I left with Saphira and Brom.
